HIGH-CLASS EXTERIOR LIGHTING FOR A MODERN RESIDENTIAL AND BUSINESS QUARTER

Situated in the heart of Bavaria, Ingolstadt is famous far beyond its borders for its automotive industry. However, not only global players are to be found in the city situated by the River Danube. Ingolstadt is also home to internationally renowned universities and numerous tourist attractions; there is a flourishing museum and cultural scene as well as a huge variety of shopping and leisure facilities. With a population of around 136,000, Ingolstadt is one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing metropolitan areas in Germany. That fact is also highlighted by the brisk construction of residential and business quarters.

The Q.West, a 7,000 square-metre area that combines shops, offices, restaurants and living space, is located in the west of the city, directly on the Audi Ring. The area consists of three buildings with an underground car park and includes a total of 36 two- and three-room flats as well as 85 apartments, 5,000 square metres of office space as well as 1,500 square metres of shop space for local supplies and restaurants.

RFL530-SE LED street and area lighting luminaires are responsible for the illumination of the car park as well as the paths and roads in the district. Luminaires with a connected load of 48 W and asymmetric, forward-throw light distribution [A60] are used. With their warm colour temperature of 3000 K they create a safe and pleasant lighting climate at dusk and during the night.

Apart from the quality in terms of light, what also convinced the designers was the look of the luminaires, because they match the high-quality appearance of the residential and business district exceptionally well. Close to the buildings the WE-EF ETC330-GB LED inground luminaires are placed between the surrounding columns. They emphasise the line of the building and brighten the projected ceiling, under which outdoor restaurants are also located. Last but not least, the CTY150 bollards round off the lighting concept by generating pathway lighting close to the ground and by visually framing the exterior landscaping.
