Landtag Vaduz

Landtag Vaduz

Since February 2008 the members of Parliment for Liechtenstein have a new home: With the so called “Long House”, the “High House” and the “Connecting House” the architect Hansjörg Göritz has created a new landmark for Vaduz. The “Long House” forms a rotunda facing the slope and is visually identified by its so-called ‘Brises Soleils’. These have been positioned in front of the windows in order to control the sunlight and to frame the building towards the square. During the evening for the illumination these sun screen elements become reflective surfaces. Lit up by in-ground uplights a distinctive contrast of light and shadows emerges. Protruding from the slope and securing the wall are the faceplates of the ground anchors. Strongly directional inground uplights illuminate the ground anchors and cast long shadows along the wall.
