Case Study: Caulfield to Dandenong Line

The Lighting Brief:

Provide an easy to maintain lighting solution which meets the energy efficiency requirements of the Green Star and Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA).

The main goal of the crossing removal is to provide community spaves accessible for all citizins and create new connections to between neighbourhoods. The lighting therefiore should be designed to connect safety with emotional qualities of the urban space.

WE-EF Solution

To meet the lighting requirements for low light spill levels WE-EF developed a special 'hybrid' LED optics for maximum safety and protecting urban wildlife and residents at the same time.

The level crossing removal project in Victoria for the Caulfield to Dandenong line unlocked new space for public realm (11 MCGs worth of open space). 17 km of new pedestrian and cyclist paths were incorporated in the Caulfield to Dandenong project.

Products

WE-EF provided VFL500 and RFS500 luminaires for car parks, viaducts, public realm area and pathways.
