Munster Town Hall, Germany
This community centre has been enriching the public life of the Lower Saxony city of Munster since March 2011. During the evening, WE-EF luminaires with metal halide lamps highlight the reddish-brown clinker-brick building facade with their warm white light.
The community has combined its social services for all functions under the roof of this new inner-city building. A total space of 1,000 m² is available for recreation, education, advisory services and meetings. Businesses, practices and offices occupy 2,000 m². The result is a central urban location that plays a key role in the city’s attractiveness and revival.
WE-EF UDN330 surface mounted wall luminaires provide particularly effective up and down grazing effects over the entire height of the building. Each luminaire uses a contour lens to emit a narrow precision beam upwards as well as a symmetric medium beam downwards. The luminaires are installed between window openings and on the columns of the covered footpath to complement the architecture.
In addition, a combination of DAC220 surface mounted exterior downlights and FLC230 projectors add emphasis to the entrance of the building: Installed under the roof overhang, the downlights illuminate the facade while the projectors enhance the traffic area and approach to the building entrance.
Energy-efficient LEDs are used on the street in front of the town hall. RFL540-LED street and area lighting luminaires with [S60] luminance-optimised lenses, for streetlighting distribution, create excellent visual conditions for traffic and pedestrians alike.
