Eco Step Dim® Motion – for an appropriate lighting level
Less light pollution, lower energy consumption, less impact on the environment – Eco Step Dim® Motion, the wireless solution for presence-dependent lighting control, is now also available for the CTY100, KTY200, ZFY200 and CFY200 bollards from WE-EF.
Do bollards always need to produce the same bright lighting level to illuminate public parks, open spaces and terraces or private gardens, driveways and forecourts? The answer is: no, they don’t. However, when people use these areas, they should feel safe and be able to see well.
Eco Step Dim® Motion uses PIR (passive infrared) sensors to capture motion data. If presence is detected, the lighting level is increased from a programmed, reduced lighting level to a predefined level, e.g., to 100%. This setting is kept for a fixed time and for as long as people are moving around in the area. When presence is no longer detected, the luminaires are automatically dimmed. This enables optimum visual conditions for the users to be combined with the greatest possible protection of the environment.
The technology for this is housed in a compact box fitted in the bollard housing where it is protected from vandalism. Depending on the usage scenario, the luminaires can be operated either as a stand-alone variant, each with their own motion sensor independent of the neighbouring luminaires, or they can be networked as a group. The Secondary version is a cost-effective solution; here, only the first and the last luminaire in a row are equipped with a motion detector.
