EXTERIOR LIGHTING FOR THE HAGEBAU DIY STORE IN KRONACH
Karst Baustoffe in Kronach has been supplying customers with home, DIY and garden products for more than 90 years. Since 1996, the company has been a partner of the Hagebau Group, and the fourth generation of the family business now welcomes customers to the modern Hagebau store. With an area of 12,000 square metres, the new building is the single largest retail space in the region and it boasts energy-efficient operation. The building meets the KfW Efficiency House 55 standard, integrates a 130-kW photovoltaic system, uses rainwater and is illuminated entirely by LEDs. Needless to say, the latter does not only apply to the interior, but also to the entrances, the 260 parking spaces in front of the building and the areas around the store.
The Head Office of the Hagebau Group was convinced by the quality of the WE-EF luminaires and the reliable service. WE-EF products illuminate the entire 55,000 square-metre outdoor area. During the past six years, more than 30 Hagebau projects have been realised with WE-EF products. At the Kronach site, CFT540 street and area lighting luminaires, each with a connected load of 72 watts, ensure that the car park is well illuminated. The [R] lens makes large distances between the poles possible and the symmetric rectangular distribution enables very uniform illumination. With effective glare limitation, the CFT540 luminaires produce an average illuminance of 25 lx and create good visual conditions in the busy car park.
The lighting of the approach and exit roads running across the property conforms to required standards and was implemented with VFL540 street and area lighting luminaires. With a connected load of 84 watts, they provide asymmetric side or forward throw distribution, depending on their location. As a wide range of CAD-optimised lenses are available for all street and area lighting luminaires in the WE-EF range, they can be used to precisely meet the requirements of the different traffic area geometries and lighting classes in compliance with standards. The functional lighting for the traffic areas is supplemented by design accents around the building. For example, VFL540 wall luminaires and ETC130-GB inground luminaires illuminate the building facades, while DOC220 recessed ceiling luminaires mark the entrance to the Hagebau store.
